Josh Tappan
Owner & General Manager
Josh, founder of Complete Automotive and Tires, built his business on honesty and integrity. He manages daily shop operations, from repairs and alignments to paint corrections, advertising, and staff training, always putting honest work first and treating customers and employees like family. With skills ranging from engine building, tuning, diagnostics, and repairs to premium ceramic coatings and paint correction, he's proud to be Kearney's only Gtechniq Accredited Dealer. In his free time, he enjoys racing, hobby shooting, and building firearms.
Matt Tappan
Lead Mechanic
Josh's brother and lead mechanic, Matt brings deep automotive knowledge and a meticulous approach to every repair. From complex engine work to routine maintenance, he ensures every vehicle leaves the shop running at its best. Matt loves spending time with his family and building cars in his free time.
Derek Buettner
Mechanic & Service Manager
Derek has become one of Josh's best friends and his right hand at the shop. He leads the service department with expert skills and a friendly, family-oriented work ethic. He steps in up front when needed and enjoys lending a hand with paint correction. Working side by side with his team, he gives them chances to grow and learn new skills.
Cory
Service Advisor & Detailer
Josh's brother, Cory, is one of the first people you'll meet. He keeps the shop running seamlessly and takes care of detailing with a sharp eye for quality. With a background in mechanic work and a love for working with people, he's great at explaining vehicle concerns and offering solutions to keep your car performing at its best!
Dan
Tire Technician
Dan is a great friend of Josh's, always bringing skilled hands and a positive attitude to every tire job — from installations and rotations to repairs and balancing. With years of experience working on custom wheels and tires, he's a true pro. He even loves when you drive by and give a honk for some free air!
Chris
Detailer & Tire Technician
Chris, a friend of Andrew's, pulls double duty as both a detailer and tire tech. Whether it's delivering a showroom-quality detail or handling a quick tire swap, he always gets the job done right. He's eager to learn new skills and is a fantastic team player!
Andrew
Tire Technician
Derek's brother-in-law, Andrew, completes the tire team with reliable skill and a solid work ethic on every installation and repair. He brings years of experience working with tires, wheels, and oil changes. He also helps out Detailing when needed.
Brett & Kristy Weis
Partners & Friends
Brett is not only a close friend of mine, but also a partner in the business — and it all started years ago when he was just a customer who asked me to tune a few of his sons' cars for him. When I first stepped out and launched Complete Automotive and Tires, Brett reached out with advice and asked if I wanted to hire his office to help with paperwork and anything else they could help with, encouragement, and genuine interest in what I was trying to build. Before long, he became more involved, sharing the same passion I have for taking care of people the right way. Michell, Charlene, and Sherry have been a huge help! There are days where I feel overwhelmed doing marketing, running the store, and remodeling and training the guys but definitely would not be possible without everyone's help and the hard work of my crew that have become a family.
Eventually, Brett and Kristy offered to jump on board after seeing what I was working toward for our community and recognizing the need for a truly local, customer-focused shop in Kearney. The support from the people of Kearney — along with the hard work of the entire Weis family and our staff — helped make our expansion into 2415 2nd Ave a reality. To be honest, they helped push a long-time dream of mine into something real.
Brett and his family have never asked for recognition, and they probably wouldn't want me saying any of this. I might not even tell them they're mentioned here until someone else brings it up. But they deserve a huge thank-you — and so do all of you in Kearney who continue to support us.
